Using this, and providing that the USB Dummy Interface jack is only partially plugged in (see attached image), I was able to get eight channels to register with Aerofly RC7 during the Configure procedure and managed to fly the simulator (note: The Mac Book Pro Retina is really not quite powerful enough - the mouse "lags" behind a bit - you also need to click the mouse in the simulator window to get the mouse pointer to appear). I proved the point by using a TRS/stereo socket (female) to a TS/mono jack adapter. The Spektrums expect a TS jack (mono) not the TRS jack that is on the end of the USB Interface cable. While I was experimenting with the USB Interface and the #3024040 adapter, I noticed that occasionally I would very briefly see one, two, four or even eight channels suddenly appear if I gently waggled the 3.5mm TRS USB Controller jack in the back of the DX9.Īnd that proved to be the problem - it appears to be the fact that the USB Dummy Interface uses the wrong kind of jack. Tip/Ring/Shank jack -a jack with three connectors, the tip, a separate ring, and the shank (in the audio world a stereo jack). Tip/Shank jack - a jack with just two connectors, the tip and the shank (in the audio world, a monaural jack).

The results are the same - Aerofly RC7 detects the “USB Dummy Interface #1” but regardless of whether I have the DX7s or DX9 plugged directly into the USB Interface or connected via the #3024040 adapter, Aerofly fails to detect the transmitter.īut I found a workaround and it appears to be that the USB Interface uses the wrong kind of jack to connect to the Spektrum transmitters.īefore I go any further let me define a couple of terms:

I have seen some references to selecting PPM - however, there are no reference to PPM in either of the transmitter manuals so there is no hint of how to do this - the only choices in the Frame Rate menu are DSM2 or DSMX.įor both transmitters I start with the transmitters powered off. The transmitters are set to DSM2 and that seems to be important (although I’ve not found any reference to that with Google searches).

If you have tested Simstick with a product NOT on this list please let us know.I’ve been trying to get Aerofly RC7 working on a Mac Book Pro Retina running Mac OS X 10.9.5.įor transmitter, I was trying to use either a Spektrum DX7s or a DX9 with the USB Interface and the #3024040 adapter.įor both transmitters I have created and selected a new model and set the Trainer mode to Slave. ** Sim lead still required - SIMLEAD by SimstickĬhannels supported: Maximun 6-7, but will vary depending on your setup and equipment. * Whilst Simstick PRO has worked with all equipment tested so far we cannot guarantee success as technologies change and may become incompatible.

We are not aware of a Radio system that is incompatible with Simstick PRO SIMULATORS

  • ALL Spektrum DSMX and DSM2 Radio Sytems.
  • ALL Futaba S-BUS and NON S-Bus Radio Systems.
  • SIMSTICK PRO is compatible with almost all radio Systems* I leave the unit with the receiver plugged in. I have been using my simstick with Pheonix V3 Beta for 2 days now & it works GREAT.
  • “Just thought I would drop you a quick note.
  • I just cant express how much smoother it is with my DX7. I love it. I just used a Hxxxx Kxxg knock off that I got from my LHS for $20, and I am off and flying.
  • “OK, I got mine today, took me about 10min to setup my DX7 and set it up in the Phoenix Simulator, and this thing flies like a dream compared to the DX5e that it comes with.

I can now sit on the couch in front of my big screen TV using my DX-8 while practicing new moves!.

  • “SIMSTICK has sparked my interest for the simulator once again.
  • I like the simplicity of using the radio without any chance of cables getting in the way or being damaged.
  • “I still have one of the first Simsticks which has worked flawlessly for at least 2 years continuous use.
  • NOW I just switch on my DX8 and enjoy flying my simulator!!”
  • “SIMSTICK is a revolutionary system that eliminates all those irritating cables.
  • says Matt Lodge of Fastlad Performance Flight Team.
  • It’s Simple, easy to use and very tidy for the Misses !!!” Personally would recommend one of these units to anyone.

  • “My original Simstick is over 2 years old now and has worked flawlessly so I’m sure I will get the same great service out of the PRO version.
